Staff

Our staff consists of dedicated workers and volunteers, full time and part time, who share the gifts they have. Some share their gifts of knowledge of scripture, others share their gifts of knowledge of technology, and still others share their gifts of music. We are a diverse group who are committed to making your time at church not stereotypical, but special.

Pastoral Staff:

Jim Black, the founding pastor of HCCC, is an ordained pastor of The
Evangelical Covenant Church and a graduate of Trinity University and
North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago. His church planting
experience includes Champions Covenant Church (Houston, TX), Hope
Covenant Church (Houston, TX), and HCCC. During his ministry in Houston,
Jim was co-creator and one of the puppeteers of the Quigley's Village
video series helping parents build moral values within kids. This video
series continues to be on television and is sold in video stores around
the country. Jim and his wife, Laurie, have two sons- Alex and Connor.

Doug Oliver serves as Co-pastor at HCCC. He is a graduate of Taylor
University in Upland, IN and Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne,
IN. Doug has over 17 years of ministry experience including seven years
in Youth Ministry in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, and ten years
experience as pastor of churches in Indiana and Florida. Doug joined the
staff at Hope in February of 2000, and his responsibilities include small
group development, discipleship, and leading the drama ministry. He and
his wife, Kandy, have four kids from 2nd to 7th grade, Caleb, Rachel,
Rebekah and Josiah.
